Gabriela Echevarría was born on April 30, 1989, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and is currently based in Lago Puelo. She began her vocal studies with private teachers in 2003, continuing for 3 years before entering EMBA (Escuela de Música de Buenos Aires), where she graduated as a professional singer. There, she was selected by Javier Malosetti to participate in the production of the institution’s official album, by Fernando “Quena” Taborda to join the Tango Orchestra, and also performed as a vocalist in the Big Band. Simultaneously, she continued private vocal studies with Dora Chávez and Julio Raggio, and took a Composition Workshop with Guillermo Klein. Establishing herself as an artist, in 2007 she studied Musical Theatre at Proscenio. In 2011 she began her Bachelor’s Degree in Musical Arts with a focus on Composition at the National University of the Arts (UNA). During that time she also studied Piano with Diego Schissi, Composition with Edgardo Cardozo, the Alexander Technique with Ana Cigarrán, and Voice with Mora Martínez and Magdalena León.
In 2008 she recorded her first album of original music, Gotas de Tiempo, produced by Jerónimo Montalvo, director of Twins Productions, for whom she also recorded jingles alongside Claudio Leda.
In 2009 she began working as a backing vocalist for renowned Argentine artist Patricio Arellano alongside guitarist Alan Plachta, sharing the stage with leading figures from the musical theatre scene such as Florencia Otero, Germán Tripel, Guadalupe Álvarez Luchia, and Mariana Jaccazio.
In 2010 she co-founded Estudio Musical EP with Gastón Poirier. There, and later at Musineira (Escuela Argentina de Músicos), she taught Voice, Vocal Ensemble, Piano, and Music Theory until 2019, when after nearly 15 years of teaching, she decided to fully dedicate herself to live performance and motherhood.
In March 2014 she released her first officially published album, Allí, where she performs her compositions on piano and voice, joined by Gastón Poirier (winds & vocals), Alejandro Shmidt (percussion), and Juan Buendía (cello), while also serving as producer and arranger. In 2015 she toured Madrid, Barcelona, and Berlin, and later that year was selected to perform with the Música Maestra Ensemble, which appeared at the Ballena Azul under the direction of Diego Schissi.
At the end of 2016 she released her third album, Para Pintarte, featuring guest artists such as Mariano “Tiki” Cantero (Aca Seca), Guido Martínez (Baglietto), Patricio Villarejo (Fito Páez), Marcelo Dellamea (Ismael Serrano), Mora Martínez (Ay Mamá), and Quique Condomí (Jairo). For this album, Gaby arranged for chamber orchestra and conducted all the concerts. The album was selected by Club del Disco and was presented on tour throughout Argentina and Brazil, as well as in Ecuador with the Chamber Orchestra of the Loja Symphony. In 2017 she toured Lisbon, Madrid, Barcelona, Berlin, and Frankfurt, where the tour was declared of cultural interest.
In 2020 she relocated to London, UK, and together with guitarist Lucho Sellan released Folklore para Bebés, an album of Argentine folk songs reimagined as lullabies. In 2021 she studied African percussion (djembe) with master Bouba Konaté, later performing weekly with him and other musicians in London. She also composed and recorded the soundtrack for La Guerrera Lola Menta y la ciudad de hombies, a children’s audiobook.
In January 2022 she released Rock Nacional para Bebés with Sellan, and in June began a European tour with pianist and composer Ailén Heredia under the project Legüeras, traveling across the continent. In February 2023 they released the EP Canciones a distancia, a collection of Latin American songs recorded during the pandemic. During this time she also joined Candombe and African percussion ensembles.
In March 2023 she traveled to Córdoba to record Luz, her first solo piano-and-voice album, at Sonorámica Studio, along with Vuelo, an album of sound meditations with Tibetan bowls and voice.
In 2024 she toured Europe with Luz and formed an improvisational duo with Orgánica Impro. She also produced the album Quisiera by Mili Aramburu, contributing vocals as well.
In January 2025, she released "Beatles for Babies." In March, she was invited to be the pianist and backing vocalist for Magdalena Fleitas at the Solidarity Festival for the Andean Region, alongside León Gieco, Chango Spasiuk, Eruca Sativa, Lisandro Aristimuño, Loli Molina, and Perotá Chingó. During the year, she performed with Latin Grammy winner Hernan Hetch, presenting their songs as a duo with improvisations using a looper and real-time processing. From June to September, she completed her sixth European tour, where she participated in the Bimbache Art Festival as a guest of guitarist Torsten de Winkle, known for his work on tours and albums with Pat Metheny. Then teaching came knocking at her door again, and from September to November she was in India at the Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music as director of the vocal department. Currently, with thousands of followers and monthly listeners across all digital platforms, she is in Lago Puelo, Chubut, Argentina, performing live, working as a teacher and sound harmonizer, and creating custom compositions and recordings.
During these 20 years of career, since 2005, she also took part in the recording of albums by: Navío Argos (2008), José Cullen (2011), Pablo Galestok (2011), Celeste Manetta (2014), Pepo Bocconi (2016 and 2019), Delfi Saraví (2017), Saltos en el Tiempo (2022), Martín Mengel (2022), Daniel Raijman (2023), Fede Acebedo (2024), Raphael Gimenes (2024), Fede Acebedo (2024), Pedro Frías (2024), Matt Jah (2025), and also worked alongside Lucas Heredia, Mariano Delgado, Américo Belloto, Leandro García de la Maza, Moa Edmunds, among others.
